Nikon D600 pics

April 2, 2013

I’ve finally upgraded my old 10.2mp camera to a 24.3mp. The old one had 3 focus points, this one has 39. It’s going to take a bit to learn all the features, but it’ll be worth it.

It’s Springtime in Alaska, but still lots of snow and not many colorful subjects yet.

A Steller’s Jay. I like the blue colors in the feathers, but it’s hard to get a good shot with their darker feathers. They seem to prefer the top parts of trees so it’s hard to get a level shot with them, or one without foreground branches in the way.

A Downy Woodpecker. I like the way their spots line up on the feathers.

The squirrel was in the shade. The D600 does very well in low light situations. Image

I had some icehole give me grief because I had a camera in the park. Said it was “F***ing strange.” Taking pics of my Granddaughter is strange? I’m sure someone taking pics three feet directly in front of the subject looks suspicious. Wut?

It really isn’t easy getting this close with a 60mm lens.
