Ebony (Black to the future edition)

October 31, 2008

In November’s edition of Ebony, you have the headline “Why Barack Obama must be our next President”

Must? Oh really?

From Linda Johnson Rice: During this campaign, Barack Obama’s brilliant and innovative views on the issues have been more in line with the thinking of Black America.

Uh, ok. So whomever appeals to the Black community MUST win? Why is this not racist?

A quote from Obama: “I’m here because somebody marched. I’m here because you all sacrificed for me. I stand on the shoulders of giants.

He borrows that last line from Sir Isaac Newton. Can’t think of an original one, eh?

And from Jalen Rose (former pro basketball star): If Obama is elected, I know he can have a positive impact on the entire world and continue to open doors, not only for me, but the entire Black race.

Doors need to be opened for him? He’s had more doors opened for him than I have had.

From Sylvester Monroe: If he can become President of the United States, I can become President of Harvard. Or I can become a state Supreme Court Judge. Or I can run for governor. In other words, the boundaries on the limitations to what’s practical are removed.

Really? I thought they were already removed. Don’t we have a black person on the Supreme Court already? And we’ve had at least three black governors.

And in that same section: The number of districts, he says, where Blacks are going to win new seats they will have to be in majority White districts.

So, we can’t make gains in the black community so we now have to make gains in the white community. So much for wanting equal representation.

Also: A Barack Obama presidency will send the message that we can do things for ourselves. We can open businesses, run for office, whatever we want to do. (Kansas State Sen. Donald Betts Jr.)

Huh? Can’t they already do that? And that is from somebody that is already in office!

And amazingly enough, on pg. 153 there is a full page ad paid by the DNC promoting Obama.

It’s almost like they’ve gone back in time like Marty in Back to the Future. Can someone please inform these dolts that this isn’t the 50’s and Blacks can and do the above mentioned things!

Stop holding on to the past and start working on your future!

Vote for Obama so he can pay for everything!

Peggy Joseph Thinks She Won’t Need To Pay For Her Gas And Mortgage Under Barack Obama

Hmm, I must’ve missed that speech where he promised free gas and housing. Maybe this is why Obama’s campaign is doing this:

Obama Lays Plans to Kill Expectations After Election Victory

Barack Obama’s senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week’s election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

Vote For Mark Begich!

October 30, 2008

That’s right! Vote for Mark Begich and kick that corrupt Sen. Stevens out of office!

We all know the best way to show our elected officials that we are sick of corruption is by voting for another corrupt official! That’ll learn them a thing or two!

According the the Alaskan Republican Party, Mark Begich has:

Defaulted on 5 loans.

Left creditors hanging.

Failed to disclose campaign income.

Fined $1,420 by APOC for breaking the law.

Overcharged utility rate payers $17 million.

Pushed business partner’s parking lease deal costing citizens $29,000 per month. Anchorage Daily News called it, “embarrassingly bad”.

Hiked city spending from $281 million to $435 million in 6 years- a 54% increase. Has your budget gone up 54%?

Increased median property taxes by $1,000 per year.

Left Anchorage tax payers hanging…

City financial mismanagement & conflicts of interest.

Serious campaign finance violations.

Sounds like another tax and spend liberal. The Anchorage Daily News is supporting this criminal and has his ads on their website. Surely Alaska can do better than Mark Begich!!

McCain campaign accuses L.A. Times of ‘suppressing’ Obama video

John McCain’s presidential campaign today accused the Los Angeles Times of “intentionally suppressing” a videotape it obtained of a 2003 banquet where then-state Sen. Barack Obama spoke of his friendship with Rashid Khalidi, a leading Palestinian scholar and activist. The Times first reported on the videotape in an April 2008 story about Obama’s ties with Palestinians and Jews as he navigated the politics of Chicago.

Whatcha hiding? Scared that Obama might lose? So much for the MSM caring about the truth.

McCain: Obama’s Definition of Rich Is ‘Creeping Down’

John McCain accused his Democratic rivals on Tuesday of steadily downgrading their definition of the middle class in an effort to hit more voters with tax increases.

“We can’t let that happen,” the Republican presidential nominee told a Pennsylvania audience.

Barack Obama has consistently said that families making less than $250,000 a year will not see a tax increase under his administration. He also says those making under $200,000 will see a tax cut.

But Obama’s running mate, Joe Biden, told a Scranton, Pa., TV station on Monday that Obama’s tax break “should go to middle class people — people making under $150,000 a year.”

McCain, who over the past few days has warned about the “dangerous” economic consequences of allowing a Democrat in the White House to work with a Democratic majority in Congress, said Tuesday that Biden was previewing Democratic tax policies to come.

“You getting an idea of what’s on their mind, huh? A little sneak peak,” McCain said, pointing to Biden’s comment. “It’s interesting how their definition of rich has a way of creeping down. At this rate, it won’t be long before Senator Obama is right back to his vote that Americans making just $42,000 a year should get a tax increase.”

I think John is being generous on the lower limit. I’d wage a bet that it’d be closer to $30,000.

Pelosi says don’t be afraid of Democrat control

And on concerns that Democrats might control both the White House and Congress she said the following:

“Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from there. But I do tell you that if the Democrats win, and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan,” said Pelosi.

Right. Liberal ‘logic’ at its finest. You’ve been warned.

Both sides of aisle rip MSNBC

The cable news channel is “completely out of control,” said writer-producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat.

She added that she would prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann.

Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC — and other media — has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.

“We should stop the demonizing,” she said, adding that Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned. “It diminishes us,” she said of her fellow Democrats. She stressed, though, that it’s Palin’s small-town American roots she wishes to defend and not her politics or policies.

Attendee Michael Reagan, the radio talk-show host and son of President Ronald Reagan, said he no longer will appear as a guest on MSNBC because “I actually get death threats.”

Death threats from the left? No way! Well, it looks like Bill O’Rielly is right about MSNBC going to the far left.

And this headline: STRESS BY GALLUP: OBAMA +2

Biden Bombs Again

October 27, 2008

Sen. Biden does another interview where he can’t say specifics but does plenty of denying.

And they’ve banned any further interviews from them too! If you don’t toe the party line, you won’t get any more interviews! You just gotta love the ‘free speech’ crowd!!!

Anchorage Daily News backs Obama!

October 26, 2008

But since this was reported on Fox News, then it’s fake, right?

Despite a Republican vice presidential candidate that hails from the state, Alaska’s biggest newspaper offered its endorsement Sunday to Barack Obama, saying he brings “far more promise” to the office of the presidency than John McCain.

The Anchorage Daily News said many Alaskans are proud to see McCain running mate Sarah Palin on the ticket — and the national stage — but her nomination “does not overwhelm all other judgment.”

But what people may not realize is that the paper is owned by the McClatchy company which is based in California. So the opinions aren’t based on what Alaskans want or believe, they are based on the corporate cronies in California.

In other words, no news here, no surprise, move along now.
