Obama’s “No Change” ad

Obama Ad: ‘No Change’ With McCain-Palin

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama begins airing an ad Saturday that responds to rival John McCain’s selection of a running mate, carefully avoiding any direct criticism of Sarah Palin, the Alaska governor whom McCain chose for the GOP ticket.

Obama’s campaign promptly created the spot in advance of next week’s Republican National Convention. The ad, called “No Change,” sought to sustain the theme that Obama and Democrats worked to cultivate at their own convention this week — that McCain represents a continuation of the policies of an unpopular President Bush.

“Well, he’s made his choice,” the ad states. “But, for the rest of us there’s still no change. McCain doesn’t get it, calling this broken economy ’strong.’ Wants to keep spending ten-billion-a-month in Iraq. And votes with George Bush 90 percent of the time.”

The ad continues: “So, while this may be his running mate…” as an image of McCain and Palin appears on the screen. The image then shifts to a shot of McCain with Bush. “America knows this is John McCain’s agenda. And we can’t afford four more years of the same.”

So picking someone that has actually made changes and has gone against her party is ‘more of the same’? You guys are either extremely desperate or clueless. Either way, it would be irresponsible to vote for them.

Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, both called Palin to congratulate her on Friday. They also issued a joint statement that said her selection was “yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics.” They called her “an admirable person and (she) will add a compelling new voice to this campaign.”

Earlier, however, Obama spokesman Bill Burton issued a statement calling Palin an abortion-rights opponent and “the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience.”

Just like Obama’s ‘zero foriegn policy experience’? You be the judge, which is worse without experience; POTUS or VP?

Obama, asked later about the message disparity, said: “I think, you know, campaigns start getting these hair triggers. And the statement that Joe and I put out reflects our sentiments.”

Just what we need, a President with a ‘hair trigger’ and no experience. You Dems must be asking for the end of the world! And it strikes me as odd that this ad is supposed to be about the VP pick, but nothing bad is said about her. Obviously, McCain picked a good running mate because it’s stumped The One!

Anyways, there were some good comments that I just had to copy/paste here.

Senator Obama is boxed in. There is no way he can talk about “inexperience” without calling the kettle black.

How can a maverick like Palin be considered “no change”? This pick for VP has given me hope again.

And then Obama says ““I think, you know, campaigns start getting these hair triggers.” A HAIR TRIGGER? He slams McCain for a short temper but his campaign has a HAIR TRIGGER? I really don’t think, in a time of war and crisis, I want a president that surrounds himself with staffers that are hair triggers (not to mention his crazy friends).

How is fighting corruption in your own party more of the same. A little puzzling don’t ya think.

To the Obama camp…are half truths, inuendos, and misleading implications considered negative by your camp? I think they should be and thus you should confess to your own hypocricy.

And the biggest loser of them:

Oh, because she is the Commander in Chief of the Alaskan National Guard she has executive experience? What does the Alaskan National Guard do, shovel snow?

You lefties are so intelligent. Your brilliance is amazing. Or is this just more of your anti-military views?

Vote for someone that loves your country. Vote McCain/Palin!!!

One Response to Obama’s “No Change” ad

“McCain’s election team who’s true nature and agenda will be kept from the world until after November.”

Gosh, this sounds like those wingnuts you attack. Just replace ‘McCain’ with ‘Obama’ and it fits. You’re the one complaining about wingnuts with their ‘Obama is a Muslim’ meme, but you use the same style of attack. You’re no better than those you complain about!

“Look no further than your idolatry of a woman who only has to show up to gain your unqualified devotion.”

Riiiight. Check tin-foil hat time. Hello! I’m in Alaska! I KNOW her much more than the others Outside! Heck, my wife held campaign signs next to her. So this thing about her just ‘show up’ (or ‘showing up’ for more proper verbage) is lame. It’s not like we new nothing about her before McCain announced her as his vp pick.

What is it about your desire to minimize, trivialize, and demonize everyone on the right? I get this feeling if McCain resurrected Mother Theresa and picked her as a VP, you’d still trash her. Get a life dude!

“But it seems that conservatives like myths; ”

I’d say you’re the one that likes the myths. You make it sound like everyone on the right is a carbon copy of each other while the lefties are all different. Some standards. Every time I complain about a lefty you just say it’s that isolated person, or small group and therefore really applies to no one else. Ok, if that’s how you want it, then all those righties that you complain about… they don’t apply to me. I’ll use your standards. Now, stop complaining about them to me.

“but like the current emperor she has no clothes”

Oh no, she does. I’ve seen them! But she’d look better without clothes than you would!

“Let’s hope that message gets out before its too late.”

The message about the lefties and their tin-foil hats? Yeah, I’m working on that.

[And you never did comment on that animation with Obama, the ‘If I only had some wine’ one.]
