Iran’s president said on Sunday the Lebanese and the Palestinians had pressed a “countdown button” to bring an end to Israel.
Don’t you just love the clever use of the word ‘countdown’. He’s always including some reference to nuclear weapons when he speaks. Coincidence?
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who triggered outrage in the West two years ago when he said Israel should be “wiped off the map”, has often referred to the destruction of the Jewish state but says Iran is not a threat.
I’ve seen people say that since Bush called Iran/NK as part of the ‘axis of evil’ that it justified them to start a nuclear weapons program. Really? Just being called ‘evil’ is justification to spend billions on a nuclear program? (we can conveniently forget that they were working on it before Bush got into office)
If that’s the case, then what are you justified in doing when someone calls for your destruction? By this logic, just about anything. Since ‘destruction’ is far worse than ‘evil’. Can we now say anything that Israel does in response is actually Iran’s fault?
