And then some!
Answer is… grass!
First tree sap, now water drops. What next, eh?
Two drops. I’m really pushing myself now!
And a closeup of a spider- click more to see it. Don’t the eyes look like turrets mounted on its body?

Tree sap.
Sunset at Cheney Lake.
Not sure what this is but I like the color.
Long exposure at McHugh Creek.
Another sappy pic.
Can anyone guess what this is?
Moss on a rock.
Click below to see the insect pics!
It’s been how many hours since I posted pics??
Sap. Upside-down to show refracted image.
Red Necked Grebe
Sandpiper
Yellow Jacket. On my wife’s back no less! I don’t know who’s more crazy, her for letting me take the pic or me asking her to stand still.
A long exposure of a moose at night. Just had to see how this would look.
Nuthatch.
Happy Moose!
And her baby.
Hope you enjoyed them!
While we still have some light.
I had some icehole give me grief because I had a camera in the park. Said it was “F***ing strange.” Taking pics of my Granddaughter is strange? I’m sure someone taking pics three feet directly in front of the subject looks suspicious. Wut?
It really isn’t easy getting this close with a 60mm lens.
Happy woodpecker is happy!
He looks a bit torn up.
And the funny pic of the week:
PICTURES!!!
Ok, it’s not my best bee pic but I liked how fluffy the bee looked.
It’s overexposed but I liked the starburst pattern.
This one is nice and clear.
And this one is not.
Trying to get two droplets in one pic.
I like the starbursts on this one too.
You can see the sun in this one. That sap sticking out of this looks strange.
This one looks most unusual. Almost like an egg.
And now for the creepy pics:
Here’s looking at you!
Help me!
Creepy spider and creepy shadow! Score!!
I could’ve had a moose pic but it was hiding too much, and I didn’t have my camera when I saw a fox, and the blue jays were too fast for me, the bald eagle was too far from me, and the salmon wouldn’t pose for me. But maybe next time….
Anyways, that’s it for now. Place your vote for best pic!
We went to the annual Governor’s Picnic in Anchorage today. Sarah Palin served us lunch and I took a few pics.
It was a long line! One girl asked if the whole city was here, and another pointed out that they’ve never seen so many people show up for the picnic. A testement to Sarah’s popularity?
They had all sorts of costumed characters.
Smokey Bear! My hero! As a side note, the previous two pics show kids from the Challenge program at the Alaska Military Youth Academy. My daughter will be going there this fall.
Buddy the blood drop. Or something like that! Donate blood!!!
Lots of people!
Lots of people were standing around trying to get a picture of Sarah.
It’s Sarah! Not sure who the other two are….
She shook everyone’s hand. Very nice and polite to everyone!
They had this poster and a few other items they handed out. Cool pic!
And unfortunately, they had two people that had to spoil the fun:
Iceholes? You make the call!
Liberals should be so proud of themselves.
Just a sample of ‘questions’ found in the politics section of Yahoo! Answers:
Are you that ignorant where you do not recognize English?
Best answer: Hilarious to watch how pathetic Liberals can get by taking a shot at Palin then unbelievably think Obama is doing a good job .You really need to be held back in the Second grade. Again! This time pay attention.
By Fred M- Are Sarah, Bristol and Willow competing for the “sluttiest Palin award”?
Classy, eh? Just when you thought libs couldn’t sink any lower.
Best answer (humor): They haven’t got a chance. Yo’ Mama is sure to win.
The system is different for President so this is a moot issue.
Best answer (tie): Can you cite one valid ethics charge? Or just the legal harassment she has had to endure? Lies and smears. How Liberals get things done
And: How much of your money are you going to let Obama take from you without complaining?
Obviously you don’t understand what is going on.
Best answer: Unlike most politicians today, she has taken the honorable step of resigning her political post to begin campaigning for higher office (so she does not take pay to be Governor while running for U.S. Senate or the Presidency).
By Brad-If Sarah Palin has nothing to hide, why is she angry about her email accounts being hacked?
Oh, we all just love to have our privacy violated. No? Then why was the left so upset about Bush and his eavesdropping against foreign phone calls? Do they have something to hide? Why the hypocrisy?
Best answer: Wouldn’t you be upset if somebody hacked your e-mail ? Say no and that makes you a liar. Its human nature to be upset, and she’s no different than you or me or anybody else. And look who the apparent hacker was…the son of a democrat politician ! Oh, what a surprise !!! Wouldn’t be surprised to find out the politician hacked it and let his kid take the fall for it ! That would be typical. Only thing I would say is where is your outrage against the hacker ?After all, it wasn’t Palin who violated federal law and committed a felony here. Your entire train of thought here is ridiculous.—-RN
By Shoeless Joe-Why does Sarah Palin want President Obama to spend money on building a Nuclear Shield around Alaska?
Gosh, it couldn’t have anything to do with her living in Alaska? Sure, it does benefit Alaskans, but millions of other people too! Are you saying you’d feel better without having a Nuclear Shield?
Best answer: Anyone who knows even a little about missiles and ballistics knows Alaska is the perfect spot to deploy interceptors to protect the western half of America for attack, not just Alaska.
And they even stoop so low as to insult her with their ‘clever’ names.
By $arah is NOT Trigs mommy: How come $arah is so “popular”?
If this is any indication of the quality of education in our country then we are doomed. And you wondered what kind of person would vote for Obama? Seemingly, the ignorant, hateful and hypocrital.
Standard blather, click for high resolution image.
I did a night time long exposure with the aperture set at f32. The star effect on the lights are natural. The shorter exposures didn’t produce them. Must do some research on this phenomenon. Also, the moon was a real cool orangish-red and the long exposure over-exposed it.
It’s not a bee but it sure has some similarities. Bee wannabe?
One of these days I’ll learn the names of the things I take pics of! So for now, I’ll just title this ‘Red Flower’. Original, eh?
I tell ya, if I got any closer I’d be on the other side. I swear I hit its tail with my lens as I was trying to get this shot. Notice the texture on the eyes? Yes, it’s mostly blurry. I wanted to close the aperture some more but the sun was setting and the light wasn’t that strong.
This one was up high in a tree. I had to aim high (Air Force pun intended) and hope I had it framed and the auto-focus worked.
