Update

October 26, 2009

Been busy playing games lately. Getting sucked into an online game called Evony. It’s a massive online multiplayer game in real time. Try it out!

It’s getting darker and colder out. Not much to take pics of right now. Maybe I’ll find something when it snows.

Answer is… grass!

And a closeup of a spider- click more to see it. Don’t the eyes look like turrets mounted on its body?

Mystery Pic

Before I say what it is, here is the original picture and the adjusted one:

Figure it out yet? The answer is glacial silt in the water. Taken at Beluga Point while the tide was coming in. I like how the debris in the top pic appears to be floating in the air. See cropped pic below.

Democrats Handle Money Better?

August 21, 2009

Isn’t this what they spouted on the news before the 2008 election? Something about people trusting Democrats to handle the economy better?

Pocketbook worries outweigh voters’ concerns over war in Iraq

Voters say they are far more likely to trust Democrats to handle the economy and health care.

Why?

Lets look at some recent facts:

Senatorial Committees…

The NRSC reported raising $2.75 million last month, bringing its year-to-date cash haul to $23.5 million. The NRSC also said it has $4.4 million cash on hand and is carrying zero debt.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised just over $2 million in the same time period, and has raked in $25.3 million since the beginning of the year. The DSCC has just over $7 million cash on hand and owes $3.3 million in debt.

National Committees…

According to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission Thursday, the DNC raised just over $9.1 million last month, and has more than $16 million cash on hand. Including various refunds and rebates, the DNC reports its total receipts at close to $9.3 million for the month. It also reports carrying a debt of more than $5 million.

Earlier Thursday, the RNC said it raised $6 million in July. The committee also said Thursday it has close to $22 million cash on hand and is carrying no debt.

Very interesting! Democrats have more cash, but carry a large debt while Republicans have NO DEBT!

And now the pendulum swings the other way.

The Tide Already Turning: Most Americans Trust Republicans Over Democrats On Economy

…that voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats – for the first time in over two years – on the all important issue of the economy.

Look at the way the Democrats run their house and spend your money and you decide for yourself- Who really is better to trust in government?

I had some icehole give me grief because I had a camera in the park. Said it was “F***ing strange.” Taking pics of my Granddaughter is strange? I’m sure someone taking pics three feet directly in front of the subject looks suspicious. Wut?

It really isn’t easy getting this close with a 60mm lens.

Obama wants to eliminate private insurance

August 3, 2009

But didn’t he say people can keep their private insurance? Looks like the real answer is ‘Yes, for now. But not in 15 or 20 years.’
