Virginia Law Takes Aim at Adults Who French Kiss Minors

Adults who French kiss a child younger than 13 would be required to register as a sex offender under legislation passed out of the General Assembly on Saturday.

Those convicted of tongue-kissing a child would be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $2,500 fine.

The House passed the legislation 96-1 and the Senate 39-0. It now heads to Gov. Timothy M. Kaine.

Del. Riley Ingram, R-Hopewell, introduced the legislation on behalf of a woman whose 10-year-old daughter was French-kissed by the 62-year-old husband of her babysitter. The only crime prosecutors could charge the man with was contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which did not require that he register as a sex offender.

Great, another friggin’ Republican trying to save the world through inept and dangerous laws. Before ya’ll get any idea that I approve of this behavior, I’ll say it right now- I don’t. My problem with this is this is another he-said she-said law. If you were to babysit a pre-teen and she decides to do some extortion, say- If you don’t let my friends come over then I’ll say you french-kissed me….

How could you prove your innocence? No DNA evidence needed, no soiled panties, no nothing. Her word versus your word. Guess which side the law will be on?

I’ve seen too many kids that would use this type of ‘law’ to their benefit. For the love of humanity, stop empowering kids in this manner. I’m sure there are plenty of other laws an adult french-kisser could be charged with. Adding another doesn’t help. Or shall I say, the potential for more harm is not worth the potential for benefit.

Anonymous is NOT happy

Kentucky Lawmaker Wants to Make Anonymous Internet Posting Illegal

Kentucky Representative Tim Couch filed a bill this week to make anonymous posting online illegal.
The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.

If the bill becomes law, the website operator would have to pay if someone was allowed to post anonymously on their site. The fine would be five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that.

Representative Couch says he filed the bill in hopes of cutting down on online bullying. He says that has especially been a problem in his Eastern Kentucky district.

Action News 36 asked people what they thought about the bill.

Some said they felt it was a violation of First Amendment rights. Others say it is a good tool toward eliminating online harassment.

Represntative Couch says enforcing this bill if it became law would be a challenge.

And he’s a friggin’ Republican too!  You ever think that if you use your real name everywhere that it will put your life at risk more? Lots of crazies out there y’know! Somebody needs to vote this clown out of office soon!

Spitzer BS

 Ya’ll know what’s going on so I’ll pass on the news article itself. What I find interesting is how the left jumped all over the rest-room toe-tapping Republican but they play down this incident. Some interesting comments from DailyKos:

Who was the victim here? I don’t think guys should cheat on their wives but how is it our business?

Also, Spitzer is a progressive democrat; he doesn’t campaign as a holier-than-thou bible thumper so the hypocrisy charge doesn’t make sense(to me).

#1- I hope this blows up in the Repugs’s faces, because they have done far worse and THEY are the ones that need to resign.
#2- Let’s dig through this and find out the real story, before it becomes a reprise of the Alabama governor in jail story. Expose the players. I bet the trail will lead right back to the White House.

the damaging info. He is such an abrasive, self-righteous crusader, that most Democrats here in the Empire State wanted him gone months before this was leaked.

And don’t give us the crap about the Repugs being just as bad or worse. That doesn’t cut it. What kind of example do we set if we tolerate this kind of behavior? The Repugs can be pigs, but shouldn’t we set a higher standard?

At this point we can say all politicians can be pigs. I think all of us need to have high standards for all public servants regardless of political affiliation.  This is not an us vs them issue.

Complaining

My regular website has been suspended. Why? Because I uploaded porn? Warez? Copyrighted music?

Nope.

The reason- my daughter emailed several people and their filter thought it was spam. Yes, SPAM!

It’s amazing to see the lefties complain about Big Brother and how Bush is watching every move we make but they seem to forget about how many non-governmental companies there are that monitor you.
